In this tutorial we will tak alook on how to install Plank Dock on your Debian with MATE desktop environment.
What is Plank Dock?
Plank Dock is an application launcher like the Dock in Mac OS which you can add and/or remove app launchers (apps shrotcuts), with modern view to make your Debian more user friendly system.
How to start installation proccess?
Step 1: in order to start the installation proccess you have to make sure that your system is up-to-date.
In order to make so write the commands below into your terminal:
~$ sudo apt-get update
~$ sudo apt-get upgrade
Step 2: After installing your updates Now it's time to install Plank Dock.
Now you can install Plank DOck with no problems by typing the command below into your terminal:
~$ sudo apt-get install plank
after it's don you can now start using Plank Dock.
In order to use Plank Dock you will need to run by going your Applications menu > Accessories > Plank.
Or by typeing inyo your terminal:
your get the nice modern dock at the bottom of your screen, to customize it click CTRL+left Click and click on Preferences, and start customization.
Note: Do Not forget to add Plank to your startup applications menu to start running as soon as you start your debian.
