How to create an application launcher with customize icon on Debian?

In this tutorial we will take alook on how to create and application launcher on Debian with customize icon in afew steps;

 

step 1: Click right click on your Desktop

 

Step 2: Select <Create Launcher...>

 

Step 3: Select the type "Application', choose the "Name", write the "Command" or the "PATH" of the application you want to run, write a Comment if you Want.

 

 

Step 4: Click Ok.

 

That's for creating a launcher. 

 

Now we will take alook on how to change the icon for the launcher:

 

Step 1: Open your Terminal.

 

Step 2: Write the following Command:

 

~$ cd Desktop/

~$ sudo gedit laucnher_name

 

Step 3: In the opened file search for "icon=" in here your write the full path the image you want to put as a launcher icon.

 

Step 4: Click CTRL+S and that's it.

 

Now you have an application launcher with your customize icon.
